This page lays out exactly what happens to your data on Project Y — what's stored, how long it's kept, and what you can do about it at any time. For the full legal language, see the Privacy Policy.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Actively using your account | Everything is retained normally |
| 1 year of no activity | Your account and all associated data is automatically and permanently deleted |
| You manually delete something | Removed immediately and permanently — no recovery window |
| You delete your account | All data removed immediately and permanently |
You don't have to wait for the retention window. At any time, from your account settings, you can:
Deletion on Project Y is real deletion. Once something is removed, it's gone — there's no soft-delete, no 30-day grace period, no hidden backup copy sitting around waiting to be restored.
When you send a message or generate an image, that request goes directly to whatever LLM or image provider you've personally connected (your own API key, your own account with them). That provider receives whatever you send them and is governed by their own data practices, not Project Y's. We don't see, log, or store a separate copy of what they return beyond what's saved in your own chat history.
If you want help with an export, a deletion, or just have a question about any of this, reach out through the Project Y Discord or support channels.
