To run Project Y, we store:
We do not sell your data. We do not share your conversations or companion data with third parties, except for the API calls necessary to send your messages to the LLM/image provider you've personally connected — that provider then has access to whatever you send them, governed by their own privacy policy.
Your data is retained for as long as you're actively using Project Y. If your account has no activity for one year, your data is automatically and permanently deleted.
You don't have to wait for that window. At any time, you can:
Deletion is permanent. Once removed, content cannot be recovered.
Project Y's memory system extracts facts and summaries from your conversations to help companions remember you over time. This data is generated automatically from your chats and stored alongside your account. You can view, edit, or delete any memory entry at any time through the memory page — nothing is hidden from you.
When you connect an API key, your messages are sent directly to that provider (e.g., NanoGPT, OpenAI, or another OpenAI-compatible service) to generate responses or images. That provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle the data you send them. Project Y has no control over and is not responsible for third-party provider practices.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we actively monitor for and address vulnerabilities as they're identified.
Project Y is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
This policy may be updated as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or our community channels.
Questions about this policy or requests regarding your data can be directed through the Project Y Discord or support channels.
